The following National Standards for Foreign Language will be applied to this course:  

1. Third year communication in Italian.  Engaging in conversations, interpreting and presenting concepts and ideas in Italian. (1.1 to 1.3)
2. Gain a greater knowledge of Italian speaking cultures. (2.1 to 2.2)
3. Reinforcing knowledge of other disciplines and recognizing viewpoints from only the Italian speaking countries. (3.1 to 3.3)
4. Compare English and Italian in regards to grammar and culture.  Develop understanding and insight of both original and target language. (4.1 to 4.2)
5. Use of Italian outside of class and a goal of life-long learning. (5.1 to 5.2)
