SPANISH 3 HONORS
SPANISH IV HONORS SPANISH 5AP

Spanish 3: This course will review grammatical sturctures and vocabulary covered in Spanish I and II courses.  Emphasis will be placed on conversation and more advanced writing assignments.  Literary selections will be read and students will become more knowledgeable of Hispanic culture.  

Spanish 3 Honors: Introducing more complicated structures, additional vocabulary and expressions will emphasize proficiency in the Spanish language.  Students will be able to express themselves in both writing and conversation.  Students will be introduced to literary works, short stories, and essays and complete Internet activities.

Spanish 4 Honors: This class is conducted enirely in Spanish and requires students to participate actively.  The students will continue to explore the language and its structure and grammar, participate and communicate on a variety of topics.  Reading and writing skills will also be expanded.  Students will become more familiar with contributions made by Spanish-speaking people in the world of arts, sciences, sports, etc.

SPANISH V ADVANCED PLACEMENT - Spanish V is a continuation of the more challenging goals and objectives found in Spanish IV. Students will prepare themselves for the required AP Spanish literature Examination by reading specific literary works by Borges, Lorca, Marquez, Matute and Unamuno. They will be able to analyze these readings and write compositions that will prepare them for the Spanish AP Language Exam. There may be only one or two students who wish to continue in Spanish V and their study is often done on an independent study basis with one-on-one meetings with the teacher at the beginning and ending of the class period. These students can often participate in review with other classes and help with oral review and evaluation. Students in Spanish V must be able to work well independently. Prerequisite: Minimum"C"average in Spanish IV; recommendation of the Spanish IV teacher (10 credits).
